Another beginning
This college quarter, I’m taking Astronomy 100 and Lifespan Psychology.
It’s the beginning of week three of spring quarter.
For Astronomy, it is a 100-level class, it’s an introduction to basic concepts about the subject. How the planets work and so on. This past week had the eclipse over Mexico and the eastern US, so we learned about moon phases. Here in Seattle, we had the opportunity to see a twenty percent eclipse if the weather was clear.
Narrator: it was not.

I went to an event hosted at my school which started an hour before the eclipse and it was a cool, cloudy overcast spring day. No chance of seeing anything.
My professor set up a room to watch the eclipse on a projector in a classroom, and we watched a couple different live streams of it. While I did feel awful due to waking up earlier from two hours of less sleep, it was an enjoyable experience. We got to see the totality four different times.
It was an interesting experience.
Other than that, I’m getting through Lifespan psychology. Right now it’s been heavy on human biology starting from an overview conception to birth.
I’m not that interested in it, but can see the value of refreshing this knowledge. It’s hard to be motivated to do homework when you can’t see how this will be used later in my desired job to become a therapist.
Something new that I’m questioning if I have the patience or people skills to do. I’m not a people person or have patience for the neurotypical need for small talk. People suck. (I include myself in this.)
I’m having trouble connecting with Lifespan psychology because I am existing until I eventually die. This used to bother me but doesn’t anymore. Not sure when that changed.
Anyway, today I’m trying out a group at school. I saw a poster for it last quarter, and again recently in a different building. It looks like a DND-type group.
Hopefully this will bring some joy into my life.
