Winter quarter: the conclusion

Just like that, the quarter is done.

Well, it’s been a long time since the previous post.

I haven’t blogged or done any kind of writing in the time between. I haven’t been able to with taking Psychology and Math 98.

Math especially was difficult because I’m now limited by how much mental effort I can exert compared to before long covid. Now, I have a max of 2-3 hours a day of that kinda effort until I get an inevitable headache, brain fog, and exhaustion I didn’t have before.

I simply haven’t had the mental energy or the need to blog like I have in the past. After doing hours of homework or studying each day for class, my brain physically hurts like one would after a hard workout at the gym. I need to rest.

While I haven’t felt the need to blog like I have in the previous four years, this is a positive change. It means that I have healed my need for regular external validation, the need I had to emotionally vent and fill a creative hole.

Grades were posted today! I got a 4.0 in psychology and a 3.7 in math!

Oh yeah, my ankles healed since the last post. It’s flexibility isn’t quite as it was

  1. Those are both good grades, congratulations. I’m glad your hard work paid off. I was just thinking the other day that I haven’t seen any of your posts in a while and wondered if it’s because you stopped blogging or if WP was glitching and not showing me the posts. Glad you’re still here even if you aren’t posting as much.

Gret job showing up! I have been exhausted also with work and running the pottery. I lost a kiln load of about 60 pieces just before my Spring show and was a bit shy of the 120 I like to have. I did get some nice looking mugs out though. Congratulations on the grades. Hope things get easier for you! Great to see you are showing up for yourself! At times the hardest part is just showing up.

  4. Well, goodness, Reilly! Congrats on those grades! I don’t think I’d be very good at going back and studying Math and Psychology…. well, maybe the Psychology 😛 😉
LOVE the pictures of the cats, seemingly planning their escape! 😛

    1. Thanks, Meg! It was a long quarter but I’m glad it’s over. Lucy, the tuxedo cat can go out but she’s chosen retirement. She just goes out briefly to smell the air or roll in a dirt pile when it’s hot out.
