So, it’s been a while two weeks since the previous post.
I didn’t post much in August. Between the sweltering heat and forest fire smog, I turned into the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, melting into a puddle of water.

In my case, I barely left the house and had fans blasting about 23 hours a day. This will be the last summer (One with record heat due to global warming) I don’t use an air conditioner in my room. While we have one on this house level, it’s about 15 feet away and not in an ideal spot for airflow. There’s only so much a tiny AC unit can do. Ever since long Covid, I can’t handle heat over 73 degrees for long. It doesn’t help that I am obese. That said, I didn’t have this problem in the past. It’s tough to write when I’m having a flareup and have brain fog. Chronic fatigue sucks.
Anyhooo…
Health-wise and long Covid-related, I’m starting to be able to exercise a bit without a crushing chronic fatigue flareup the days after. I still have symptoms, but they’re manageable. I’m unable to do full-time work yet, but this is progress. I’m not having to rest half the day. If I overdo things, I can take a nap. Who knows what the future will be with this chronic illness?
School details.
School is paid for while I wait for my financial aid money to arrive. While I applied back in May, my application was delayed. I forgot to choose my major at the time. I didn’t know this was a problem until August 30th.
I also had to change math classes as I chose the incorrect class. I had signed up for a technical math class, which won’t count towards the prerequisites I’ll need in future biology classes.
In summary, I’m ready for the Fall quarter of college. I’ll be taking English 101 and Math 081. I’m starting over in math because I’ve forgotten how to do math. 15 years since my last college math class and 20+ since high school will do that.
Finally, this new life is beginning!
